Curriculum Components
The values become forefront in the culture of a school using our curriculum components and resources:
TEACHING RESOURCES – Each of our lessons are structured to include talking points, activities, and follow up questions. We even connect to subject areas of reading, writing, math, science, social studies, service learning, and concrete learning for special needs. Our lessons are divided into time increments, understanding that not everyone has a big block of time to teach the value lessons, but everyone has SOME segment of time. Decide who can carve out 5, 15, and 30 minutes and then with one click they have all the tools they need to do so! You’ll have access to inspirational quotes and further engage students with the “Go Wild!” section - ways to relate the value to an animal. We also know what is recognized is repeated. We’ll help you find creative ways to “catch” and celebrate kids and adults alike that display the value of the month. EVERYONE in the school has the potential to recognize the value in action...even kids! Equip everyone to recognize and reward the value in action.

MEDIA RESOURCES – Included in this section is an extensive book list (20 titles PER value for K-2 and 3-5!), Power Point backgrounds and a revolving images PPT show, Value song music links and lyrics.

VISUAL RESOURCES – This section includes powerful ways to make the value visible in and around your school. For example, ideas on how to use the value color of the month in decoration and participation ideas, mini-posters that show the value, definition, and animal and the popular coloring sheets. Celebrating can be made visible with the monthly and yearly certificates provided in color and black and white. Values can be visible – let Bus Drivers decorate their bus, Lunchroom Staff the tables, Teachers the hallways...the school is everyone’s canvas!

DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS – Start the day with not just weekly suggestions but DAILY scripts to be shared school-wide over the intercom or school news broadcast! Daily your entire school will hear the same message about the month’s value. (Media Specialist/Librarian, News Crew, Administration, and anyone else with a microphone in hand!)

FAMILY RESOURCES – Find here all the tools you need to make the school to home connection. It’s no mystery that families hold the biggest influence in a child’s life. With families on board, the sky is the limit for changing the CULTURE at your school. You’ll find introductory newsletter inserts (to be inserted into classroom newsletters) in English and Spanish; Family CORE Time sheets in PDF (English and Spanish) and Family Ezine (html emails) that include Car time where families can download the value songs, Open Wide times where families are given conversation topics, Reading time – families have their own book suggestions, and Experience time – where families can see the value at work in their community. We also provide 135 character reminder scripts (for text, Twitter, Facebook communication) will help you connect school and home with ease.
